  2. Introduction: CIWG has 29 members with MVP as the elect Chair & WFE as Co-chair. CIWG is one of RENCP working groups that is mainly focusing at Parents and entire commuity participation in the education of their children. CIWG working group believes that with active involvement of parents and the communities at large leads to improved learning outcomes, ownership and sustainability.

  3. Updates: Elections were held for the Chair & Co-Chair of the working group; We had three candidates; MVP, WFE, and Uyisengan’Imanzi. • MVP was voted as the new chair and Wellspring as co-chair. Big thank you to the outgoing Chair and Co-chair for their great work over the years.

  4. Participation of members has improved, last meeting we had 16 participants. • Advocacy was done now the ministerial order on school leadership was approved by the cabinet. • CIWG has worked with REB in the harmonization of the PTC manual • ToR of the working group has also been developed but not yet completed due to low attendance of members.

  5. A survey was conducted about the participation of the CIWG members and some reasons of poor attendance in the meetings were highlighted; • People join the working group with high expectation of what they will have. • New members do not receive briefing of what the WG is doing and in addition people are not given time to understanding what the platform does before joining. • Some projects/programs end/are clossed and organizations have programs that are not related to community. • Some organizations are in WGs but do not operate in Rwanda. • There are other organization active in other working groups and participate in the general assembly but not active in CIGW yet they are members.

  6. A study Visit was held at Club PESCT: Achievements of Club PESCT: • Provision of books in primary schools in order to enhance reading culture, children borrow books, read them at home, summarizes them and share book content to classmates. • Mobilizing youths and Adults on reading culture and delivered books/reading materials. • Capacity building on girls sexual reproductive health education. • Establishment of a National Education NGOs Coalition in Rwanda (NENCOR) which is functional.

  7. We had testimonies from community members and Local leaders Lesson Learnt: The Youth are very talented and have a good will to serve their communities but unfortunately they are limited by poverty, they lack resources and they do not know which door to nock for a solution to breakdown the big constraint they face. “This is a strong barrier to their future”.

  8. Participated in an Official Handover Ceremony of UNMDGs “Thank you Small Library” UNWTO ST-EP Foundation in Partnership with Millennim Villages, MINEDUC/REB officially handed over three children’s libraries to schools, GS Ruganda, GS Kamabuye & EP Mbyo.
