Propagation in captivity The scientific study was the basis for establishing and developing a family reproduction program in Abu Dhabi. Only by studying the physiological and behavioral characteristics of birds, whether in the wild or in captivity, can the artificial conditions favorable to the reproduction of birds be prepared in large numbers. Preliminary studies led to a breakthrough in 1996 when the breeding of Houbara bustards in captivity began to grow in numbers to grow.

Houbara Houbara was considered to be one type from two separate groups geographically, but subsequent studies revealed that the groups of Asia and North Africa are of two different types on the basis of genetics, morphology, geography and behavior. In 2014, this classification was officially recognized, and the classification of these two species was changed on the IUCN Red List :

  4. Asian bustards The areas of the Asian Houbara spread from Northeast Asia (Mongolia and China) across Central Asia, the Middle East and the Arabian Peninsula to the Sinai desert. After the breeding season in Central Asia during the spring, some groups of Asian bustards migrate south to spend the winter in the warmer regions (the Arabian Peninsula, Pakistan, and the neighboring regions of Southwest Asia). Early next spring, these birds return to their breeding habitats in China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other northeastern regions.
