  1. SATURN THE FACTS Alanna Briony Pickering March 2012 5H

  2. ABOUT SATURN Saturn is the 6th planet away from the sun in our solar system. The planets in our solar system are, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, SATURN!!, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto Galileo first saw Saturn through a telescope in 1610 Saturn is about 75% hydrogen and 25% helium with traces of water, methane, ammonia and rock NASA pioneer 11 first visited Saturn in 1979

  3. THE RINGS OF SATURN ! Saturn’s rings are made of millions of chunks of ice and rock. Saturn is not the only planet with rings but they are the easiest to see. The rings are about 250,000 km in diameter but are less than 1 km thick. Saturn’s three brightest rings don’t have names but they have the first three letters of the alphabet, A, B and C. Two rings (A and B) and one faint ring (C) can be seen from the Earth. The gap between the A and B rings is known as the Cassini division. B A C

  4. WEIGHT AND SIZE OF SATURN You could fit about 740 Earths into Saturn If there was an ocean big enough, Saturn would float because it is made of gas and liquid. Saturn is more than ten time the size of Earth and more than ten times the distance from the Sun. X 740 =

  5. WHERE IS SATURN? Saturn’s distance from the Sun is 1,427 million km. Saturn has 18 moons but it could be more! Titan is the biggest moon of Saturn. Saturn Titan

  6. NAMES AND WHAT THEY MEAN Saturn was named after the Roman god of agriculture. Saturn was Jupiter’s father . The biggest moon in Saturn is called Titan. In Greek mythology, the Titans were a race of powerful deities, descendants of Gaia and Uranus, that ruled during the legendary Golden Age

  7. One extraordinary astronaut named Monty Flight from Liverpool decided last year that he would fly to Saturn in an XZ power rocket sponsored by the one and only Domino Pizza. He has spent 3 years building this mega energy charged rocket with fire boosters. Monty is going into space because he needs the money to feed his family and his dog Beano. The scientists will gain a lot from the mission to Saturn and Monty will become the first man from Liverpool to go into space. Monty will become famous to the whole magnificent world. Monty will be setting off in four days time . He will be launching his rocket from outside the museum of National History in Liverpool at 5.30 on Friday Your can track Monty’s flight on the internet at WWW./montyflighttosaturn /track.
