  1. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS

  2. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS

  3. THE ART OF GETTING ALONGWITH OTHERS Each of us was born into this world a self-centered individual, aware only of our own immediate needs. If we are going to get along with others, we must grow out of this self-centeredness. The key to getting along with others, of course, is love.

  4. Mark 12:29-31 Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment." And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

  5. John13:34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another."

  6. 1 John 3:16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

  7. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS Each of us was born into this world a self-centered individual, aware only of our own immediate needs. If we are going to get along with others, we must grow out of this self-centeredness. The key to getting along with others, of course, is love. But how is this manifested in our daily lives?

  8. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS 1. FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE.

  9. FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE. "And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise." (Luke 6:31)

  10. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS 1. FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE. 2. BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS.

  11. BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS. Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. (Philippians 2:1-4)

  12. BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:5-8)

  13. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS 1. FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE. 2. BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS. 3. DON’T BE A BUSYBODY!

  14. DON’T BE A BUSYBODY! But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people's matters. (1 Peter 4:15)

  15. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS 1. FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE. 2. BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS. 3. DON’T BE A BUSYBODY! 4. DON’T BE HARSHLY CRITICAL!

  16. DON’T BE HARSHLY CRITICAL! "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." (Matthew 7:1-5)

  17. DON’T BE HARSHLY CRITICAL! "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." (John 7:24)

  18. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS 1. FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE. 2. BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS. 3. DON’T BE A BUSYBODY! 4. DON’T BE HARSHLY CRITICAL! 5. BE CHEERFUL!

  19. BE CHEERFUL! "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

  20. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS 1. FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE. 2. BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS. 3. DON’T BE A BUSYBODY! 4. DON’T BE HARSHLY CRITICAL! 5. BE CHEERFUL! 6. BE AN INFLUENCE FOR GOOD.

  21. BE AN INFLUENCE FOR GOOD. "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:13-14)

  22. BE AN INFLUENCE FOR GOOD. "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:15-16)

  23. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS 1. FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE. 2. BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS. 3. DON’T BE A BUSYBODY! 4. DON’T BE HARSHLY CRITICAL! 5. BE CHEERFUL! 6. BE AN INFLUENCE FOR GOOD. 7. CONTROL YOUR TEMPER!

  24. CONTROL YOUR TEMPER! So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. (James 1:19- 20)

  25. 8. DON’T BE A COMPLAINER!

  26. DON’T BE A COMPLAINER! Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. (1 Timothy 6:6-8)

  27. 8. DON’T BE A COMPLAINER! 9. DON’T BE A LIAR!

  28. DON’T BE A LIAR! Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another. (Ephesians 4:25)

  29. 8. DON’T BE A COMPLAINER! 9. DON’T BE A LIAR! 10. BE FAIR-MINDED.

  30. BE FAIR-MINDED. These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. (Acts 17:11)
