  3. Concept • Completely automated flower identification from photos is hard! • Solutions: • Use extra information recorded by the phone: • Location • Date • Altitude • Time of day • Let the user do some work! • Identify your flower from a ranked list

  4. Implementation details • User: • Photos the flower • Indicates bounding box & flower center • Android: • Queries SQL DB to find potential matches by time & location • Extracts features from image • Ranks matches by feature similarities • User • Scrolls ranked list to identify flower
