  2. Run-On Sentences • Two or more sentences incorrectly written as one sentence. • They may be corrected by inserting one of these between the two sentences: • Inserting a (.) period • Inserting a (;) semicolon • Inserting a (, and)(, but) (, or) comma and a conjunction

  3. Example: Insert (.) Period Run-On Sentence: Bill won the race the crowd cheered. Bill won the race, the crowd cheered. Corrected: Bill won the race. The crowd cheered.

  4. Example: Insert (;) Semicolon Run-On Sentence: Bill won the race the crowd cheered. Bill won the race, the crowd cheered. Corrected: Bill won the race; the crowd cheered.

  5. Example: Insert Comma & Conjunction (, and) (, but) (, or) Run-On Sentence: Bill won the race the crowd cheered. Bill won the race, the crowd cheered. Corrected: Bill won the race, and the crowd cheered.
