Greeting Others Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): “The Prophet (sws) said: ‘The young should greet the old, the passerby should greet the sitting one, and the small group of persons should greet the larger group of persons.” Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): “The Prophet (sws) said: ‘ The riding person should greet the walking one, and the walking one should greet the sitting one, and the small number of persons should greet the larger number of persons.”

  3. Greeting Others Cont… Narrated Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he passed by a group of boys and greeted them, then said, “The Prophet (sws) used to greet the young boys.”

  4. Behavior in Gatherings… Narrated Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with Him): “The Prophet (sws) said: ‘A man should not make another man get up from his seat in a gathering in order to sit there, but should make room and spread out.” “Narrated Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with Him): “The Prophet (sws) said: ‘When you are three persons sitting together, then no two of you should hold secret counsel excluding the third person until you are with some other people too, for that would grieve him.”

  5. Allah (SWT)’s Delight in Our Seeking Forgiveness… Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): “The Prophet (sws) said: “By Allah! I seek Allah’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance more than 70 times a day.” Narrated IbnMasud (May Allah be pleased with him) The Prophet (sws) said: “Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His slave, compared to the (pleasure of) a man who encamps at a place where his life is jeopardized but his riding animal carries his food and water. He then sleeps for a short while and wakes up to find his animal gone. He searches for it and suffers from severe heat and thirst, then he says ‘I will go back to my place’. He sleeps again then finds his riding animal when he wakes up.”

  6. How to Ask for Forgiveness Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (sws) said: “None of you should say: ‘O Allah forgive me if You wish’ or ‘Oh Allah be merciful to me if You wish’ but he should always appeal to Allah with determination, for no one can force Allah to do something against His will.” Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (sws) said: “The invocation (dua) of anyone of you is granted by Allah if he does not show impatience by saying ‘I invoked Allah but my request has not been granted.’”

  7. Heart in the Right Place… Narrated Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): “ The Prophet (sws) said: ‘Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have sweetness and delight of faith: • The one to whom Allah and His Messenger have become dearer than anything else. • Who loves a person and loves him only for Allah’s sake. • Who hates to go back to disbelief as much as he hates to be thrown into a fire.

  8. What To Aspire To… Narrated Abdullah bin Masud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (sws) said: “Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases. The first is a person whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously; the second is the one whom Allah has given knwoledge/wisdom and he acts according to it and teaches it to others.”
