Philosophy • Tennis is an awesome lifetime activity that can be enjoyed at any level with or without competition • I am the coach of a team so my job is to encourage competition • I want the team and individuals to succeed but my job is to choose what is best for the team – now & looking to the future

  9. Team • There is no “I” in “Team” • As a team and as individuals we function in the presence of positive encouragement • We are human – conflicts and misunderstandings do arise • Conflict resolution: • Communicate with the person 1st- seek resolution • If necessary bring someone with you to a 2nd meeting • Do not place others in the middle

  10. Attendance Excused Absences Unexcused Absences Anything that doesn’t qualify for excused 1 day – 1 meet suspension 2 days – 2 meet suspension 3 days – we will need to talk about staying on the team • school function that lasts later than 5 pm, • illness -not at school or left before P11, • Family emergencies-funerals, trip, illness; not haircuts or shopping trips) • 1 day – no action • 2+ days – coaches discretion

  11. Player Conduct • On and off the court I expect integrity and respectful behavior toward all • Athletic Code Issues • Make the Team your priority over your entertainment • You should keep your nose clean all year & grades up • Violations out of season – serve it • Violations in season – expect me to be upset & take action
