Our enthusiastic community sets high expectations for life-long achievement through acceptance and support of all.

  5. General Kindergarten Information Kindergarten Day 8:15-11:50 AM Classes (Wednesday 10:40) 11:50-3:25 PM Classes (Wednesday 2:25) Class Size: up to 33 students in each class Partner Teacher supports class for 90 minutes Instructional Aide provided during language arts time (funded by PTO)

  6. Sample Schedule Tuesdays: 11:15-11:40 Computer Lab Thursdays: 11:15-11:45 Music & Science (every other week for each one)

  7. Pick up and Drop off AM Classes: Gates open at 8:10am. Students may use drive up lane. Classes start at 8:15am Pick up students in front of school at 11:50pm PM Classes: Gates open at 11:45am Students may use drive up lane. Classes start at 11:50am Parents walk to classes to pick up students at 3:25pm

Common Core Standards in San Marcos Unified • Adopted in the state of California in 2010 • Focus is on career and college ready with emphasis in Communication, Creativity, Collaboration and Critical Thinking • Math practice standards create mathematicians that are problem solvers. • Math is the gate keeper for careersof the future. • Three types of writing for K-5: narrative, opinion and informational. • Common Core Video

SMUSD Wellness Policy • SMUSD recognizes the link between student health and learning and has developed a Wellness Policy for the District that will promote student health through nutrition education, nutrition guidelines and physical education and activity. • SMUSD Wellness Policy • The Wellness Policy contains: • Allowable snacks • Acceptable Drinks • Preferred Items • Limited Items • Not Allowed Items

Kindergarten Registration • April 24th: • Deadline for Registration for AM Kindergarten lottery • April 25th: • AM Kindergarten Lottery 3:30pm in SEES Library • April 28th: • AM Kindergarten List Posted. Packets are available in our office from 8:00am-4:00pm. Registration taken from 8:30am-3:30pm. If you have registered and will not be attending our school, please notify the front office.
