  1. RiskMeter Batch Training

  2. Batch Tool • The Riskmeter batch tool allows users to submit multiple locations all at once. • This means you can submit schedules of addresses for analysis and receive results in a spreadsheet format. • Grouped policies, book of business, etc. • Online service is available that requires no human intervention – results are returned in minutes!

  3. Starting out… • Click the Start Batch button to begin • Type your Username and Password • Enter Member ID if necessary

  4. Step 1 - Batch Preparation • A batch may be submitted in just a few simple steps. The results will be emailed you automatically upon completion of the batch. • First, the batch must be formatted correctly for submission. A simple template is provided to make this as simple as possible for you. To view the template, click on the link “How to Prepare a Batch Input File” or Ehelp at the top of the page. • If your batch is very large (greater than 1,000 records), contact CDS at 617-737-4444 for instructions. • Important Note: If you don’t format the batch according to the specifications provided, it will not process.

  5. Formatting your Spreadsheet • The spreadsheet should mirror the batch template file. • 5 columns labeled RecordID, Street, City, State, Zip. • RecordID is a unique value (number or letter) that represents each location. • Save the file as either a Text (tab delimited) or 2003 Excel Workbook.

  6. Submitting Lat/Long Coordinates • You can also submit a batch of Lat/Long coordinates. • 8 columns labeled RecordID, Street, City, State, Zip, Lon, Lat, Georesult. • Assign a value of SP to every location in the georesult column. • Save the file as either a Text (tab delimited) or 2003 Excel Workbook.

Submitting an EQE Batch Ground Shaking and The Score • You can Submit a batch for the EQE earthquake reports. • You can run other reports along with the earthquake, however it must • be in this format. • 12 columns labeled RecordID, Street, City, State, Zip, Year Built, • Year Upgraded, # of stories, # of buildings, Occupancy, Structure, and • Return Period. • You can download these templates right from the RiskMeter Batch site. • http://batch.riskmeter.com/eHelp.aspx

Submitting an EQE Batch AAL and PML • You can also Submit a batch for the EQE AAL and PML reports. • You can run other reports along with the earthquake, however it must • be in this format. • 15 columns labeled RecordID, Street, City, State, Zip, Year Built, • Year Upgraded, # of stories, # of buildings, Occupancy, Structure, and • Return Period, Building, Contents, Time. • You can download these templates right from the RiskMeter Batch site. • http://batch.riskmeter.com/eHelp.aspx

  9. Step 2 - Choose Tests • Enter your contact information. Double check to make sure your email is correct because the batch results will be sent via email. • Choose the reports you would like run for the batch. • By default your batch settings will match the settings on your standard RiskMeter Online account. If you would like to use different settings (i.e. different distance increments), or would like to run reports not available on your standard account, please contact CDS at 617-737-4444.

Step 3 - Submit Batch Input File • Upload your XLS or TXT file by clicking the browse button next to the Input File section. • Select the radio button for the type of batch your are submitting: Address vs. Lat/Long • Choose your output: Excel or XML • Click Validate Batch • If there are errors in your formatting it will alert you. If you get this message, please refer to the batch template and reformat your spreadsheet.

  11. Step 4 - Batch Order Confirmation • Your batch is submitted! Please note your reference number. • Your results will be emailed to you in an Excel spreadsheet when complete. • If you do not receive your batch results within 24 hrs, please contact us and refer to your reference number. • For more information on the batch processing, please contact your account representative or Ryan Turgeon at 617-737-4444, rturgeon@cdsys.com
