ECO: Discovery through Participation Our Heritage, Our Responsibility Poison Ivy ‘Leaves of Three (3) Let it Be’ How do you get poison ivy? - By coming in contact with the plant’s oils. - By breathing smoke from fire that is burning poison ivy. How to treat poison ivy? - Within the 1st hour rinse with lots of cold water. - Do Not use warm water, that will open pours. - Do not shower, or shower in cold water & cautiously. - Up to 6 hours, alcohol may remove the oils. - Lotions may assist with itching
