What Can Be Done? • Teachers Can: • Limit the child’s exposure to annoying allergens • Make sure students have their antihistamines, decongestants, bronchodilators, and anti- inflammatory nasal sprays to treat respiratory allergens • Keep medications / treatments close by • Know how to use treatment • Teachers must be aware of all the allergies their students have, and the severity of these allergies. If students have treatments that need to be administered they should get training and make sure they know how to do it.

  9. In the Classroom • Teach students about allergies • What they are • Symptoms and reactions to allergens • Make students aware of the allergies people have in there classroom • Ex: If a student is highly allergic to peanuts make sure students know they should not eat peanuts around them, if they’ve eaten peanuts they should do things such as wash hands and brush teeth before interacting with them again.
