  4. The Question You are at the park with your grandparents. Your grandmother pays £1.20 to buy you a bat and a ball to play with. The bat costs £1.00 more than the ball, how much does the bat cost?

  5. Our Brain Is Easy To Trick We are not well designed to cope with maths Our brain is lazy and often doesn’t check itself to see if it has made a mistake.

  6. A Problem of Probability • You are the winner of a game show. In the final you get to choose a prize from behind a door: behind two of the doors is a goat and behind the other is a Porsche. Once you have chosen, the host opens one of the remaining two doors behind which is a goat. He gives you the option to change your mind and pick the remaining door. Should you change?

  7. The Solution • You should switch • Switching has a 2/3 chance of winning • Sticking only has a 1/3 chance of winning • This is unintuitive but…. • If you first chose the car (a 1/3 chance), switching will lose it • If you first chose a goat (a 2/3 chance), switching will win the car

  8. A Question What percentage of Malaysians are overweight? I will show both As and Bs the answer, but separately…I want to see what influence colour of writing has on another question Please do not comment, write the answer down or share it with anyone else.
