Couriosity about autumn • In the northern hemisphere autumn months begin around August / September when early autumn in the southern hemisphere is considered about March. • Some Western countries believe that autumn begins with the autumnal equinox (September 23) in the northern hemisphere. • In Chinese astronomy autumn equinox marks the middle of summer it since around the feast Liqiu (around day 7 August). • Fall in North America is called the `fall`.

Winter is the shortest season?Thus, in the northern hemisphere, since the spring equinox till the autumn equinoxthere are approximately seven days more than in the other ‘half of the year’. In the southern hemisphere the seasons are opposite so the facts are viceversa. The exact duration of seasons is– Spring: 92 daysand20 hours, Summer: 93 daysand15 hours, Autumn: 89 daysand19 hours, while Winter: 89 days.The longer duration of spring-summer seasons insurea the northern hemisphere with more warmth than the southern but it’s compensated by the fact that during the northern summer Earth is found at its furthest point from the sun.
