Project Background in Hungary Weak points in the field of LLL and key competencies • Lowest level of participation in adult education compared to the EU-27, it is particularly a problem among the population with low level of education, elderly and unemployed • Imbalanced situation regarding the various levels of education and in regional aspects, lack of AE infrastructure • The level of basic skills of low educational attainment is deeply under the EU average (ALL) • Lack of public resources, low level of participation of the business sector and private individuals in financing the costs of LLL • Too much focus on formal qualification and accreditations, lack of acknowledgement of non-formal and informal learning

Key Features of the Experimental Project Easy access and flexibility: to ensure outreach Integrative approach: the learning integrator is to ensure all necessary conditions for competence development Networking concept: tocreate synergies, encrease and share knowledge & resources Empowerment in focus: to enable individuals and communities to change their situation Low cost solution for competence development in disadvantaged communities

Results so far • 781 participants 2010 June-2011 January • Focus on key competences • Digital competences, Foreign languages, Oral communication • Development and sharing of learning programmes • Everyday financing, ABC PC • Local programmes answering local needs • Typing, Energy efficiancy& sustainable living,First Aid,Health development, etc. • NYITOK Competence-certificate • Good examples for communitydevelopment and social inclusion
