SMEs IN THE EU 1. • SME’s are facing same problems in all EU countries: • lack of capital • mistrust between banks and SMEs • limited access to liquid finance. • does not get the deserved attention, even though 95 % of all companies are SME • need for useful tools, a financial product to fill the gap. Based on the basic principles of the European Union, and understanding the problems of micro-, small,- and medium enterprises a special financial tool was formed to help and assist the SME sector to acces finance. This tool is the SME orineted special credit, the Széchenyi Card. www.kavosz.hu

SZÉCHENYI CARD 2. • € 100,000 charge account credit (staged initiation: 4-20-40-100 thousands) • 1 year duration • Interest and guarantee feesupport • Advantageous coverage and security • Lengthing, appropriation raising possibility • Bank card (main & partner cards) accepted internationally • Quaterly redemption obligation • Available for a wide range of SMEs’ • In extremely short time (two weeks) • At the lowest interest rate and costs level of the credit market • Through door-to-door servicing • With easy understanding, meeting the needs of individual enterprises, • The special co-operation system accepts and considers all the aspects and interests of the participant institutes. www.kavosz.hu

FACTS IN HUNGARY 4. • 20% of the full hungarian SME sector has been reached • 120,000 applications, rising by 2,000 monthly • Full coverage, accessable country-wide • 300 offices and 1,700 brances (75% of the Hungarian bank sector) • 85,000 Széchenyi Card handed over • € 1.6 billion distributed to SMEs’ in 4 years time • 18,000 new jobs created (in 2005-2006) • Founders: • VOSZ (National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers) and MKIK (Hungarian Chamber of Trade and Industry) • Participants in the structure: • Credit Associations (5 bank and 130 saving cooperatives), Credit Guarantee Plc. and Ministry of Economy and Trade. www.kavosz.hu

ADAPTATION 5. • This successful tool can be adapted in any country with the unique cooperation between different types of organisations, as of: • there are chambers and enterprise representation associations in every country to reach SME’s by using the extant trustful relationship • all the countries have their own guarantee associations which can be motivated in developing SME’s access to finance • there are commercial banks that can be motived in the adaptation every country • there is governmental role in SME access to finance in every country, • there is accomplished written and verified know-how in KA-VOSZ • The „only” task is to join the forces of extant associations along their interest relations. „THE MISSION IS POSSIBLE” www.kavosz.hu
