  2. “causes the growth of the body” Ephesians 4:16 • God wants each Christian to grow spiritually (I Peter 2:1-2; 2 Peter 3:18). • When each member of the body grows spiritually “causes the growth of the body” (Ephesians 4:16)

  3. “causes the growth of the body” Ephesians 4:16 • Each Christian’s personal responsibility to grow spiritually (Ephesians 4:1) • - “entreat you” = appeal to, encourage • - “walk” = manner of life • - “worthy of the calling” • - we are children of God!

  4. “causes the growth of the body” Ephesians 4:16 • How children of God walk (Ephesians 4:2) • - “with all humility” = lowliness of mind • - “gentleness” = meekness • - “patience” = longsuffering • - “showing forbearance” = endure • - “to one another in love”

  5. “causes the growth of the body” Ephesians 4:16 • The importance of children of God walking this way (Ephesians 4:3) • - “being diligent” = zealous, great effort • - “to preserve” = to keep, hold fast • - “the unity” = togetherness • - “of the Spirit” = God’s unity • - “the bond” = glue • - “of peace” = of mind and relationship
