  1. Neptune Cailin Chumita Mrs. Lower May 14th,2013

  2. Neptune is 2.8 billion miles away from the Sun. • Neptune is the eighth planet from the Sun. Neptune’s Location Neptune is one of the outer planets, far past the asteroid belt.

  3. Neptune’s Location • Neptune is also the farthest planet from the Sun, which means it is very cold. • Neptune’ s neighbors are Uranus and the dwarf planet Pluto.

  4. Neptune’s diameter is 30,776 miles wide. • The planet’s radius is 15,388 miles. • Neptune is called a Gas Giant because it is made of gas and is one of the larger planets. • The four Gas Giants Neptune’s Size How BIG is the Gas Giant Neptune?

  5. Neptune’s Size Neptune is so large that 60 (sixty) planets the size of Earth could fit inside.

  6. Neptune’s Revolution, Rotation, Axis tilt, and Seasons compared to Earth Neptune Earth The revolution is 365 days long. Earth’s rotation is 24 hours long. The revolution is 165 Earth years. The rotation is 16hours, 7minutes.

  7. Neptune’s Axis tilt Neptune’s axis tilt is 28.32degrees.

  8. Neptune’s And Earth’s Moons Neptune Earth Earth has 1 (one) moon. People have landed and walked on Earth’s moon. • Neptune has 13 (thirteen) moons. • No one has landed or walked on Neptune’s moons.

  9. Neptune’s Moons • Some of the names of Neptune’s moons are Triton, Naiad, Thalassa, Despina, Gatatea, Larissa, Proteus, and Nereid. • Neptune’s largest moon is Triton and Neptune’s smallest moon is Naiad is the smallest moon. • Naiad is 36 (thirty-six) miles wide. • Triton is 1,678 miles wide.

  10. Reflection • I chose Neptune because Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun not counting dwarf planets. Another reason I chose Neptune is, that the planet was named after the roman God Neptune. • The most surprising thing I learned was that the rotation only takes 16hours, 7minutes. • I would love to learn more about Neptune.

  11. The End 
