  2. My Goals This Evening • Help you begin YOUR Sustainable Journey • Give you the building blocks through my Experiences • Clear up any challenges you may be feeling towards starting or continuing on a sustainable Journey • Remove the stress and make Sustainability an Enjoyable journey

How I began my Journey • Attended Breakfast with the Mayor of Cherry Hill in 2008 where I listened to Lori Braunstein make her plea for a more sustainable community • Began My Journey of Greening Playdrome • Attended Future Search in August of 2009 • Joined the Green Building Committee of Sustainable Cherry Hill in the fall of 2009 • Opened ZLedLighting January of 2010 my Sustainable Hobby business

Greening of Playdrome Bowling Center in Cherry Hill • Began a Recycling Program for Reducing Solid Waste / Glass – Plastic –Cardboard-Paper • Began an energy reduction program through Led Lighting and Motor controls Reducing Energy consumption by 13% over 3 years • Changed consumables to recycled or recyclable materials • Employees began to participate in Sustainable thinking and started to Contribute!

  5. Expanding Your Knowledge • Join Sustainable Organizations & Committees • Help with Community Projects • Participate in Sustainable Seminars • Attend Green Drinks & other Green Functions • Continue your journey! Don’t stop

  6. Start Your Own Sustainable Business • Focus on an area of Sustainability that you enjoy and understand. • For me it was the Power of LED Lighting • Each LED We sell reduces Energy consumption • Turn a hobby or passion into a business to help others learn and feel the power of Sustainability

The Power of LED Lighting • Reduces energy consumption from 50% to 90% over incandescent and florescent products • Safer for the environment than fluorescents • Great return on investment for commercial applications • Reduces HVAC use with less heat produced • Long Lasting • Learn how to convert Watts to KWH$ the power of energy reduction in all aspects

How Can you Begin Your Journey • Go Home tonight and write a plan on what you can change in your business and personal Life that will make a difference for Sustainability • Join an organization or committee to reinforce and grow your knowledge • Use Sustainable Cherry Hill’s Green Business Task Force Sustainability Template as your guide • Focus on what interests you in sustainability and try to grow it into a business or hobby • Begin your Journey Now Don’t wait
