  2. About Adobe Adobe Systems (NASDAQ: ABDE) is a multinational computer software company focused upon the creation of multimedia and creativity software products, as well as rich Internet application development. Adobe has a global workforce of 11,144 employees and over $1 billion in revenue.

  3. The Challenge The Employee Communications team was asked to find new ways of communicating to boost engagement. There was a need to find a tool for delivering the recently created “90 Seconds at Adobe” bi-weekly video program . This on-demand content needed to be viewable by the entire Adobe workforce, whether watching on desktop, tablet or mobile device. There was also a desire to start leveraging video for employee meetings. Adobe had a desire to deliver executive messaging to its global workforce through high quality live rich media webcasts. The solution in place could not scale to over 1,500 internal viewers and was unable to deliver HD video.

  4. Solving the Delivery Challenge Adobe's goal was to deliver medium quality video to all of their approximately 78 office locations around as well as remote workers who don't belong to a specific office location. The office locations have different network types and require different stream formats for delivery: multicast, peer-to-peer multicast and unicast. In addition to the content delivery it was also important to address the need for event security between the different user groups within the enterprise - so who should be able to watch what type of broadcast when the viewing experience is done in a common environment that all members of the enterprise have access to.

  5. Evaluation Adobe began a detailed evaluation of MediaPlatform as a possible solution for on-demand video streaming and live webcasting. The fully integrated MediaPlatform offering includes the enterprise video portal PrimeTime as well as the rich media webcasting solution WebCaster.
