Outline • Purpose: • Describe where we are in the process of establishing an aviation English language test endorsement process. • Topics: • Test endorsement project overview • Project timeline • Steps of the process (the endorsement website) • Current activities: pilot testing the process • Next steps

Endorsement Process • A process to systematically review and confirm that language tests of aviation English are good testing instruments reflecting the ICAO LPR. • Open to any test owner wishing to have their test endorsed. • Consists of an initial endorsement and a review / re-endorsement every 3 years. • Involves regularly informing ICAO of testing practices.

  4. Team Members • Initial workgroup included representatives from ILTA, IFALPA, IFATCA, ICAEA • Added team members with practical experience working with language tests before developing specific test evaluation criteria. • Used a participatory process to complete the work.

  10. Next Steps • Complete the pilot, identify and implement improvements. • Open the endorsement service to all TSP. • Develop more permanent administrative processes / build a capacity to continually improve the process • Operate regular test endorsement service.
