  2. Made up of rare earth and alloys elements, a rare earth magnet is a strong permanent magnet, which includes samarium, neodymium, praseodymium, and 13 other elements. These elements in the 1800s were reportedly discovered but it wasn't until when in the late '60s it was developed in a U.S. Air Force lab where cobalt and samarium were produced the largest magnetic anisotropy.
