Key Facts • Actionworks Key Statistics • A reduction of 92% in the number of 18-19 year olds in receipt of Unemployment Benefit. • An increase in the level of participation from 36% to 95% of 16-17 year olds receiving Independent Youth Benefit. • Case management of 3120 young people aged from 16-19 during the last fiscal year • 38 schools in Canterbury advising Actionworks when a young person leaves school.

Issues • Service Delivery for young people is not always straightforward • Literacy and numeracy issues with school leavers • A increasing number of young people with drug and alcohol issues • The number of young people accessing the service is dynamic and changes with social and political influences • Funding

The Future • We are constantly striving to improve the services offered by Actionworks to young people • Working with young people on other benefit types • Greater engagement with other key agencies working with youth i.e. Police, Health, Child Youth and Family, TEC • Better identification of school leavers through the Moving On School Leaver Tracking Programme
