Jesus was subordinate to the Father, not only in the functional sense that he came to earth to do the Father’s will, but in the metaphysical sense of being a creature subordinate in his essence to the Father.” • Mark Noll in • Turning Points, pgs. 52-53

  9. Council of Nicea • We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of all things visible and invisible . . .

  10. Council of Nicea And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, begotten of the Father, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father. By whom all things were made; who for us men, and by our salvation came down and was incarnate and was made man; he suffered. And the third day he rose again, ascended into heaven, from thence he shall come and judge the quick and the dead.

  11. Council of Nicea • And in the Holy Ghost.

  12. Council of Nicea • And those who say: "There was a time when he was not", and: "Before he was begotten he was not", and: "He came into being from nothing", or those who pretend that the Son of God is "of another substance" [than the Father] or "created" or "alterable" or "mutable", the catholic and apostolic church places under a curse."
