  1. Top 3 Challenges faced by a CNA

  2. Challenges • Extra Shifts • Difficult Patients • Outsource Job

  3. Extra Shifts • While working in any facility, usually 8 regular hours of work is required. • But in case of a nursing assistant, there can be fluctuations in the working hours as some patients may need constant caring. • The working hours can extend up to 12 hours or sometimes even more.

  4. Extra Shifts • And if you are hired personally to take care of a patient at home, you might need to stay with them for whole 24 hours. • Sometimes you may also have to take responsibility to work in place of your co worker if they are on holiday. • Many individuals would find this challenging and a bit stressful, but there is also a benefit that comes along with it. That is the hourly wage that you would be paid on working overtime.

  5. Difficult Patients • There are patient coming ever now and then from different societies, culture, race and religion. It is true that among them there are some patients who may find you annoying or at fault.

  6. Difficult Patients • There can be various scenarios, like an old granddad complaining about his bad day or any parent who cannot stay still due to unpaid bills. • Avoid all this you will need to build a rapport between you and the patient and the parents as you would be interacting with them daily.

  7. Outsource Job • There are times when a CNA has to work outside any facility. For example, if you are working with the Red Cross, you might as well be sent to many of its branches spread throughout the country where there is high demand of CNA. • Another case can be the various project held in different states where you may be needed or the worst case scenario can be a state of war in which you have to travel from place to place depending on where your service is required

  8. Outsource Job • Now this is what you call challenging hard work. You have to travel and leave your own city for the sake of helping people. These tasks may even take days, even months to complete and may as well require to work maximum hours, so you may find it exhausting as well as stressful, but you can overcome all of this if your are internally motivated. • Now these challenges come with the job and they can be very promising if you as a CNA are highly motivated. You can turn these problems into a learning experience. • If you can work through them you will definitely feel emotionally satisfied and you can work your way up to a bright future. But if for any reason you are not able to handle them, you might end up running back home.
