  24. (Ministry of Education, 2006) of Ontario, Canada, has incorporated multimodal texts into the curriculum at stage one (p. 45). Multimodal texts are introduced in the English Curriculum guide as one of four strands: oral communication, reading, writing and media literacy. (Department for Children schools and families UK, 2009). A new primary curriculum is being reviewed. “Viewing” & “Broadcasting” are skills necessary for understanding and responding to information. National Curriculum Board in Australia (2008) has included the structures  of visual texts, the effects of certain features  in digital text, and interpretation and understanding of how visual texts work into the National Curriculum.

  29. You can click on the lesson guide to get ideas to use the software. There are three parts in each week, i.e. “Introduction”, “Lesson” and “Test”. We recommend four lessons in a week. Each lesson requires 20 minutes. You can repeat “Introduction” for each of your lessons in the week.

  30. There are five parts in the lesson. Introduce “words” started with “a”. Sing a song to introduce “a”, “word” and “phonics sound of “a”. Elaborate on words introduced. For each of the parts, children will need to refer to their books to learn with software. This is important as it will be easy for parents to repeat the same at home.

  35. 5 MELS Learning Pad provides games for children. The games appear as apps. Each time when the teacher finishes each lesson, the related apps will appear automatically on the Leaning Pad for the individual child.
