  1. Alternative Energy By: Alfredo Garza

  2. Alternative Energy • Alternative energy is a term that refers to methods of generating energy that are not the usual method.

  3. Examples of Alternative Energy • Bio-Fuels • Solar Energy • Wind Energy • Hydro-Electric • Fossil Fuels • Nuclear Power • Chemical Energy • Wave Power • Tidal Power • Nuclear Fission

  4. Bio-Fuels • Bio-fuel is defined as solid, liquid or gaseous fuel obtained from relatively recently lifeless or living biological material.

  5. Solar Energy • Solar energy is the radiant light and heat from the Sun that has been harnessed by humans since ancient times using a range of ever-evolving technologies.

  6. Wind Energy • Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into a useful form of energy, such as electricity, using wind turbines.

  7. Hydro-electric • Hydroelectricity is electricity generated by hydropower. For example, the production of power through use of the gravitational force of falling or flowing water.

  8. Fossil Fuels • Fossil fuels are fuels formed by natural resources such as anaerobic decomposition of buried dead organisms.

  9. Nuclear Power • Nuclear power is any nuclear technology designed to extract usable energy from atomic nuclei via controlled nuclear reactions.

  10. Chemical Energy • Chemical thermodynamics is the study of the interrelation of heat and work with chemical reactions or with physical changes of state within the confines of the laws of thermodynamics.

  11. Wave Power • Wave power is the transport of energy by ocean surface waves, and the capture of that energy to do useful work — for example for electricity generation, water desalination, or the pumping of water (into reservoirs).

  12. Tidal Power • Tidal power, sometimes called tidal energy, is a form of hydropower that converts the energy of tides into electricity or other useful forms of power.

  13. Nuclear Fission • In nuclear physics and nuclear chemistry, nuclear fission is a nuclear reaction in which the nucleus of an atom splits into smaller parts, often producing free neutrons and lighter nuclei, which may eventually produce photons (in the form of gamma rays).

  14. Energy Project Engineer • These positions require extensive knowledge of industrial manufacturing operations, commercial building systems, and new building construction.

  15. Alternative Energy Analyst • Full service NASDAQ member firm is presently seeking a senior equity research analyst specializing in the alternative energy industry. This position is available at our Dallas.

  16. Alternative Energy Recruiting Firm • Alternative Energy, AER is a nationwide recruiting firm within the Alternative Energy Industry that specializes in Bio-diesel, Ethanol, Wind and Solar.

  17. Senior Project Manager • The Senior Project Manager will drive execution of Bio-Energy projects in North America and Internationally. You will be involved with early stage engineering and joint development projects in various stages of development accountable for budget and scope.

  18. Lead Gasification Controls Engineer • For more than 125 years, GE has been respected for its performance and innovative spirit. GE people worldwide are dedicated to turning imaginative ideas into leading products and services that help solve some of the world's toughest problems.
