Third Round Cycle (2003-2004) • Full Evaluation Phase • The evaluation process starts early, at the end of first evaluated year (2003). • Few countries had full 2004 data for the last GEG meeting. • Limited time between the last GEG meeting and the CICAD spring session. • Recommendation Follow-up Phase • Limited time for the countries to implement recommendations. • Limited time between the last GEG meeting and the CICAD spring session.

  4. Criteria for Choosing an Evaluation Cycle • The cycle should balance the need for quality product with the need for the report to be published in a timely fashion. • Enough time should be provided for: • Countries to answer the questionnaire. • Countries to provide all of the requested data. • The MEM Unit to prepare the documents for their review during the sessions of the GEG. • Experts to carry out preparatory work between meetings. • Countries to review their report before final approval. • Countries to implement the MEM recommendations, after the evaluation report is published.

MEM Fourth Evaluation Round Cycle Options (2005-2006) Publication in Jun 2007 Publication in Jun 2007 • Six options in total for the publication of the reports of the 4th MEM Evaluation Round (2005-2006). • Each option takes into account the publication dates of the full evaluation report and the recommendation follow up report. • Publication months are either June or December, because the reports have to be approved by the CICAD Commission. • The minimum time between the publication date of these reports is one year. 1 2 Follow-Up Pub.
