  1. YST- TOP Coach TOP Coach has been developed by the Youth Sport Trust in close alignment with The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and with careful reference to the new Professional Standards for Coaching released by CIMSPA and UK Coaching, ‘Working in a School Environment (Out of Curriculum)’. It enables coaches to ‘bridge the gap’ between current minimum deployment standards and the new Professional Standards for Coaches. TOP Coach comprises of two classroom training days, delivered by Youth Sport Trust’s network of quality assured tutors, nine e-learning modules and an online assessment. For more information, please visit YST at the Marketplace.

  2. YST- My Personal Best Primary • My Personal Best Primary promotes a whole school approach to teaching and learning in PE, where life skills and values such as co-operation, responsibility and resilience are taught explicitly through PE. It explores these life skills practically, helping children to recognise and transfer them to other lessons, to life in school and to their wider lives. • One-Day Training • The one-day training consists of two parts: • Part one is for the Headteacher and PE Leader:- • explain the importance of developing pupils’ life skills • recognise what ‘life-skilled’ looks like in your pupils • identify the potential to develop life skills through PE • describe how My Personal Best Primary could be embedded in your school. • Part two is for the PE Leader:- • demonstrate a life skills approach to teaching and learning in PE • plan how to implement a life skills approach in your teaching of PE. • Resources • For more information, please visit YST at the Marketplace.

  3. YST- Youth Sport Award • The Youth Sport Award is a reward and celebration scheme which helps young people to evidence their learning, progress and achievement in and through sport and physical activity.  It also supports them to demonstrate the impact their involvement in sport has had on their personal development, including leadership skills, health and wellbeing and wider life skills.  • Targeted at 10-24 year olds, it aims to build positive lifestyle habits and behaviours and empowers young people to take ownership of developing their own skills. • There are five different levels of the Award:- • Go • Bronze • Silver • Gold • Platinum • For more information, please visit YST at the Marketplace.

  4. YST- Girls Active: Stepping Up For Change Following the success of the Girls Active programme which launched in 2013, developed by Youth Sport Trust and delivered in partnership with This Girl Can and supported by Women in Sport, Girls Active is now evolving to target even younger girls and take a long-term approach to engaging girls. Stepping Up For Change encourages 14 -18 year-olds to inspire and guide younger, primary-aged girls to love PE, sport and physical activity and set them up for a healthy and happy future. Research tells us that… the biggest drop-off occurs during the transition from primary to secondary school, with disruption to friendship groups and declining body confidence affecting girls’ participation in PE and sport. https://www.youthsporttrust.org/girls-active For more information, please visit YST at the Marketplace.
