Goals • To Increase the effectiveness, expertise, and skills of its members • To involve its members in an active and supportive network of professionals who are leaders in the field of correctional education • To help increase the quality of educational programs and service through technical assistance as well as advocacy • To offer timely and practical information to fellow staff members • To represent the collective interest of correctional education before the government, the press, and the public on the national as well as on state, provincial, and local levels

Affiliations • American Correctional Association (ACA) • American Jail Association (AJA) • European Prison Education Association (EPEA) • International Federation of Education in Correctional Settings - Australia (IFECSA) • American Association for Adult & Continuing Education (AAACE) • National Association for Adults with Special Learning Needs (NAASLN)

  5. What Competition? • The Correctional Education Association is the ONLY group for educators working in correctional settings. • Only CEA has insight into the needs faced by this special group of professionals! “By correctional educators, for correctional educators”
