EXAMPATTERN • SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level)Examination • The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicatedbelow: • Tier -I -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple ChoiceType) • Tier -II -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple ChoiceType) • Tier -III -- Personality Test /Interview/Computer Proficiency Test or SkillTest • NOTE: Tier-I examination will be used to screen the candidates for appearing in Tier- II examination. However, marks of such screened candidates in Tier-I will be taken into account for final ranking of candidates for selecting them for the interview/skill test and also finalselection. • TIERI • Tier –I exam consist of only one paper that would be common for all categories of posts and will be held in onesession. • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wronganswer. • The questions will be set both in Hindi and English in respect of Parts A, B andC.

TIERII • Tier-II consists of three different papers/subjects and depending upon the category of posts applied for, the candidates are needed to appear in two or threepapers. • Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the categories ofposts. • Paper-III is compulsory only for those candidates who apply for the posts of Statistical Investigators Group II & Compiler. • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wronganswer. • TIERIII • INTERVIEW • Personality Test/ interview will carry a maximum of 100marks. • Candidates applying for Auditor, Accountant, UDCs, Tax Assistant, and Compiler are not required to appear for aninterview. • SKILLTEST • Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for post of Assistant in CSS only. This test is of qualifying nature and has components of Word Processing, Spread Sheets and generation ofslides. • Skill Test is applicable for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise and Income Tax). To get qualified, one should score Data Entry Speed Skill Test at 2000 (two thousand) key depressions for a duration of 15 (fifteen) minutes.

Section Officer (CommercialAudit)Examination Section Officer (Audit)Examination Complier (for O/oRGI)Examination Statistical Investigator Grade-II (for M/o Statistics &Prog. Implementation)Examination Sub-Inspector in CPOsExamination New scheme for SSC recruitment -CGLE Salient features of the newScheme: There will be a single application for allposts. Candidates will be advised to give option, in order of priority, for various group of posts included in the Examination. The Notice for the Examination will mention the date of Tier-I as well as Tentative date for Tier- IIExmination. Tier-I of the Examination will comprise of one paper of Objective Type with the followingparts: *Paper for VH candidates will not have Graphs, Chartsetc

  8. iv Tier-I will be used to screen the candidates for appearing in Tier-II for various papers which will be specifically required for different groups of posts. However, to avoid replication at Tier II level, marks of suchscreened candidates in Tier-I will be taken into account for ranking of candidates for selecting them for the interview and also finalselection. NOTE: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer inTier-I. v. Tier-II of the Examination will consist of three Objective Multiple Choice papers which the candidates will be required to take depending upon their qualifications and options for various posts : NOTE: In Tier-II, there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks in Paper-II and 0.50 marks in Paper-I and Paper-III for each wrong answer. vi. All papers in Tier-II will be of Objective Type . While papers I and II of Tier-II Examination will be of general nature and at a level consistent with the Educational Qualifications prescribed for the posts, namely a degree, Paper-III of specialized nature will be of DegreeLevel.

  9. Tier-III will consist of Interview. Additionally for posts Tax Assistants and Assistants(CSS) Skill Test in Data Entry/Computer Proficiency will be of qualifying nature and compulsory. Interview will iner-alia testthe comprehension and analytical ability of the candidates to supplement testing of language skills in Tier-I and II, General Awareness and personality, basides giving suitable weightage for levels of performance in minimum educational qualification prescribed, additional qualifications, if any, social abilities as evidenced through participation in extra curricular activities or depth of knowledge gained in the job in the case of candidates already employed etc. Marks for interview will be apportioned appropriately to test the competencies which might not have been adequately tested through objective type testing in Tier I andII. Skill Test for Tax Assistant / Assistants (CSS) will be held on-line and results will be available to the SSC immediately after conduct of the Text to avoid any delay in finalization of the results. To avoid inconvenience to the candidates, SSC will endeavor to schedule skill test along withinterviews. Interview will carry a weightage of 100 marks. SSC will have the option of seeking detailed /revised option from the candidates at the time of Tier-IIExamination/Interview. Scheme of Examination for different posts will be asfollows:
