New media and Dubstep • Development of new media technology allowed of found of Dubstep • Definition of Dubstep • Genre of electronic music • It originated in Southeast London in United Kingdom • Characteristics • Sound emphasis on bass frequencies • More like heavy sounds and dark notes with minimalized rhythms

  4. New media technologies with Dubstep • Computer with sound edit software • Midi Controller (keyboards) • Dubplate (As know as now DJ sets)

Foundation of Dub • Dubstep is originated from music genre dub in Jamaica. • With particular Jamaican sound system and culture has driven into revelation of dub - Bad surroundings (poor – limitation of equipment; had to use existence music to remix) • Dub is based on abstract sound remix from original music. • Dub producers used a method called ‘dub plate’ • These style of work is still following in these days.

  10. Solution • Diversified of Dubstep types by producers. • Try to appear more often in medium • Use famous pop music, as material to remix that Dubstep can be more accessible to the audiences.

How Dubstep affects to the culture • It allows adolescents to embrace music and artist from across the globe. • It allows one to come across different forms of music in a modern Western context. • Had influenced to many countries in Asia and Africa. • Made a new stage in the growth of the music business

  13. Conclusion • In conclusion, the recent developments in electronic music and rise of Dubstephave enabled transnational works to be available on a more mainstream and accessible scale, marking a new stage in the growth of the music business.
