  1. HOW TO CHOOSE A HIGH QUALITY PHOTO PRINTER Choosing any type of electronic equipment can be a frustrating process especially if you don’t know what features to look out for. With so many models and brands of printers in every store, knowing what’s right for you can be a very confusing process. We will give you some tips to help you make an informed choice.

  2. How will you use it? • Will you be using the machine to print photos as well as text? If so, choose one that is easy to switch from plain paper to photo paper. Some devices can create a messy situation because you have to change the ink cartridges if you want to switch the paper you are using for printing. • Consider the cost of ownership • Don’t just focus on the cost of the printer. Consider the amount of ink and paper that you will be using per print and choose a device that utilizes technology to allow you to save on both resources. A high-end device may be expensive to buy but cheaper to own and run.

  3. What type of photos can it print? • If you want a device that can print both black and white and colored photos, then ensure that it can handle this well. Many devices aren’t designed to do both prints well so ensure you check the photo quality of both types before you decide. • Consider the size • Printing devices can be as small as a mobile phone or large enough to occupy a small room. Pick a size that is suitable for your needs. A portable printer is such a great idea because you can use it wherever you like. If you are looking for a device that you can use to print banners, then you might have to settle for a large size.

  4. How much can you print? • Printing devices usually have a monthly duty cycle which is the number of prints you can make in a month. Make sure the recommended monthly duty cycle is much more than what you plan on using. Avoid printing devices without a duty cycle rating because without it, you can’t be sure of their performance. • How do you power the device? • Some printing devices come with a battery so it’s possible to use them in a place where there’s no electric power. However, you need to find out how many photos the device can take when the battery is in full charge so as to determine its reliability.
