La Gente de Escobedo(The People of Escobedo) • Average income is not generally sufficient to purchase a home • Houses are handed down or are constructed on available land • People live “day-to-day” earning enough to survive, but little more • People in the area are greatly influenced by the Catholic and Penticostal churches

  3. Niños(Children) • Working to attract children from the community to the church • Started 4 years ago with this work • We now have 12 children regularly attending services

  4. Evangelismo (Evangelism) • Currently conducting studies with 27 people • Most of people claim a religion (Pentecostal or Catholic), but don’t regularly attend services • The majority of the contacts are made through the CoC radio program broadcast two times per week in Monterrey • This work has resulted in two baptisms in the last year

  5. Clases Para Adultos (Adult Classes) • Conduct marriage classes every two months for members of the community • The purpose of this work is to attract neighbors to the church • 6-7 people who are not members of the church regularly attend these classes

  6. Reuniones de Hogar (Home Meetings) • Home meetings take place every two weeks in the home of one of the members • Meetings include singing classes with the goal of improving the singing in the church • Meetings also include a short devotional on a topic requested by the congregation

  7. Convivencia (Fellowship) • Fellowship meal is held the first Sunday of each month • The purpose of these activities is to encourage the members and help them feel like a family • These activities also include a birthday celebration for the members with birthdays that month • This is a popular activity among the members

  8. Construcción (Construction) • Currently working on the second floor of the building • All of the brothers get together one Saturday each month to work on the construction • In July the work is aided by groups from the US • The plan is to finish the construction within two years

  9. Visitas de los EU (Visits from the US) • Construction • VBS • Leadership Training • Medical Missions
