  2. Overview Australia is the only country to take up a single continent. It has many different climates depending on where you are in the region. Australia is geographically isolated from the rest of the world but their ideal trade is to and from Asia. Australia in general has many contrasts when it comes to its desserts, cities and the outback. Australia is one of the oldest continents on Earth with a lot of history tracing back to the Aborigines. Australia’s government is very free with a parliament and democracy.

  4. Cities • Sydney: 1. Sydney Harbor- Activities for kids, Scenery, Scuba diving, Sailing, Fishing, Boating 2. Sydney Opera House-Opera, Ballets, Theatres, architectural detail. • Canberra: 1. Memorials- War memorials that show gratitude to people who served in WW II. 2. Art House- Theatre, crafts, dance companies, and craft markets.

  8. Economy • GDP= 40,800 21ST in world ranking Natural Recourses: Quality of Life: The Quality of life in Australia is very good. It was ranked second in Human Development index in 2009. Also the access to healthcare and service in Australia is very high. Coal, Iron, Copper, Tin, Gold, Silver, Natural Gas.

  9. Economy By sector: • Agriculture: 3.6% • Industry: 21.7% • Service: 75% Main Industries: Mining, Agriculture, Tourism, and Industrial Manufacturing.

  12. History • In 1838 Swimming was declared illegal to swim at public beaches during the day! This law was enforced until 1902. • Australia was the second country to give women the right to vote in 1902 • The largest cattle station in the world is Anna Creek Station in South Australia which is over 34,000 square kilometers.

  16. Conclusion Over all Australia is a great place to live with freedoms and a fast growing economy. There are some down sides, but each will help the economy in the future. Australia has great climates, fun activities, and wonderful historic landmarks that can interest anyone.
