  8. Summary of 2010 in Bedfordshire • January-February cold. Coldest UK winter since 1979. • Snow across Bedfordshire in early and late January. • March sunnier and drier than average. Last frosts of winter. • April very dry. Ash clouds from Icelandic volcano gave us great sunsets. • June warm and sunny. UK temperatures 1.4°C above average. End of driest first 6 months of the year since 1929. • July was cloudy and fairly dry. • August third wettest in East Anglia since modern records began in1914. • September warm and sunny, with little rain. • October, first frosts began. • November heaviest UK snowfalls since 1933. Snow in Beds from 27th. • December brought freezing temperatures and snow until 28th.
