  2. Major Function • The major function of this body system is to take contaminated blood and filter it, so your body can use the fresh blood. Then your body releases the contamination out of your body. (That’s why you use the restroom.)

  3. Major Organs • The Major organs in this body system consists of the bladder, kidneys, aorta, renal veins, and urether.

  4. How This System Works • Tiny filtering units in the kidney called nephrons first take water, sugar, salt, and wastes in the blood and filter the blood through tube-like structures. Then all that’s left will be blood cells and proteins. Next, capillaries that surround the tubule perform the second filtration. Most water, sugar, and salt are reabsorbed and returned to the blood. Purified blood is returned to the main circulatory system. The left over liquid, urine, is lastly trown out through the bladder.
