  1. Gabby Douglas She was the first African American girl to win an all-around gold medal.

  2. Chapter one: It’s a girl • Gabby Douglas was born December 31st1995 in Virginia Beach. HER mom’s name is natile Hawkins. Gabby’s mom almost died having her. she had a life threatening disease called branched chain kedorcia, a blood disorder.

  3. Chapter Two: Personal • When gabby Douglas was six months old the disease had gone away. Her and her brother were very close even though they were fourteen months apart.

  4. Chapter Three: Siblings • Gabby Douglas had three older siblings, Two sisters, Arielle and Joyelleand one brother, John. Growing up, Gabby was very poor and homeless.

  5. Chapter Four: Experience • Gabby’s Sister Arielle showed her how to do a perfect cartwheel and everything Gabby Douglas knows now to this day.

  6. Chapter five: Sports • Gabby’s sisters Gave up their sports to let her do gymnastics because her mom did not have enough money to pay for all three of their sports. Gabby has been doing gymnastics since she was six years old.

  7. Chapter six: Short • Gabby was being picked on when she was a girl because she was too short. Her nickname was “brie” And the “flying squirrel”.

  8. Chapter Seven: Moving • To this day Gabby is ‘4”11” and 94 pounds. For her to be able to train with coach liangchow, she had to move with a family that lived in west des monies, iowa cause that’s were coach liang chow was.

  9. Chapter eight: Iowa • In October 2010 gabby left her home to go train with coach liang chow. Gabby Douglas was only fourteen when she had to move in October 2010 to go train with coach liang chow.

  10. Chapter Nine: London Olympics • At the London Olympics her leap of faith was a disaster. she had crashed. She got an injury while she was training for the Olympics with liang chow.

  11. Chapter ten: QUITING!!!!!! • Jordan wieber was one of Gabby's teammates. gabby and her family struggled to find a home in one point of her life. gabby wanted to quit. she said: ”Gymnastics is not my passion anymore.”

  12. Chapter Eleven: gold stealer • Gabby also trained with another coach. her name was shawn Johnson. Gabby almost got the gold taken away from her by Jordan wieber in the London Olympics.

  13. Chapter twelve: women's gymnastics team • At the U.S. London 2012 summer Olympic games, gabby and other members of the U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics team, kyla ross, mcaylamaorony, alyraisman , and Jordan wiebertook home a team gold medal.

  14. Chapter thirteen: starting up • Gabby was the first African American girl to win an all-around gold medal at the London Olympics. her leap of faith was a disaster she had crashed.

  15. Chapter fourteen: MOVIE!!!!!!! • Gabby Douglas recently made her own movie called “The Gabby Douglas Story “ showing her real life just with actors.
