The timeline • May 2007: Regional Conference recommends the Europe Committee to hold a Eurolife Event • September 2007: First Planning meeting is held in Brussels • October 2007: Europe Committee decides to consults with MOs in Europe, given the difficult time situation • February 2008: Europe Committee decides, given positive feedback from MOs to call for hosts for Eurolife 03 December 27th 2009- January 2nd 2010

The timeline • July 2008: Eurolife presentation at WAGGGS World Conference – 4 centers, 400 participants, Celebrate – Challenge – Connect – Choose • July 2008 – Eurolife preparations set on hold, due to changed financial plans (post World Conference 2008) • October 2008: Europe Committee decides on new plan for Eurolife 03, with budget reduced of 80%

The Timeline • February 2009: First CPT meeting in Brussels – now two centers instead of 4 • May 2009: Deadline for registrations, first PT meeting in Burg Rieneck, Germany • September 2009: Extended deadline for registrations. Eurolife 03 event confirmed at end of September • October 2009: Second PT meeting in Brussels, now one center instead of two. • December 2009 – Eurolife 03 in Burg Rieneck

  6. The planning • Central Planning Team: Committee, office, one representative from each host organisation (one representative after having decided to hold event in one centre only) • International Planning Team: WAGGGS Working Groups Volunteers • National Planning Team: German VCP members

  7. The event • Advocacy project (MDG 2,4 and 6) • Night game • High Rope course • Outdoor activities • New Year Celebration – Galadinner /Centenary Celebrations • International evening • Spiritual Ceremony • Leader‘s program • International Patrols • Tower Room – Free space • Picture show

  8. How did the members of the teams feel? • Start over – again! – Always at point Zero • Frustration and difficulties planning • Happy with the event • Advocacy made exciting! • Wondering about the effort vs output?

  9. The Future • Shall the Region hold an event for 14-18 years old? • What would be the aim of the event be? • How do we use Regional Resources? • How do we (committee) allocate Finances? • What is the role and responsibility of MOs when deciding to hold Regional events?

Possible ways? • Stop focusing on event for 14-18 years old and use the resources to train adults in the MO • Eurolife 01 type – one big camp in one country (organised by the host organisation with the support of the Region) • Eurolife 02 type – summertime event in different countries • Model event – Event in a box • Educational tools for MOs to include in their own events, • Regional trainers and support provided to support the program of events organised at national level • Training for trainers and faciliators for MO‘s
