  1. Shaler Area: Now and Then GOAL: To pretend for a second that we’re historians trying to compare how things have changed from THEN to NOW. • Use an old B&W picture of Shaler, Etna, Millvale, or Reserve • Use Google Street View to attempt to capture a similar vantage point, zoom, and angle of that location today. -Google.com > Type in address/location > click “map” > zoom in and drag yellow guy onto the street you want. • Put both versions of the picture onto PowerPoint slide #1. Include a title of what it is we’re looking at. • Put a description of what has changed between now and then on PowerPoint slide #2. Consider buildings nearby, cars, houses, trees, streetlights, etc.

  2. SAMPLE:ALL SAINTS CHURCH SAME: Bricks, the structure, doorways, powerlines. DIFFERENCES: Bushes, Trees, some random fenced in park thing, new doors, and the building to the left of it.

  3. DIRECTIONS: Read This!!! Use the black and white pictures on the following slides. Choose whichever one you want. Copy and Paste the picture into a new PowerPoint file. Save it to your H: drive Then use Google Street View to try and reproduce that picture. They are divided by Shaler, Reserve, Millvale, and Etna.
