What Is NSBE • NSBE is the largest student-managed organization in the country with hundreds of pre- college, college and alumni/technical professional chapters all over the world. • NSBE was founded at Purdue University in 1975 by six people nicknamed “The Chicago Six”. National Society of Black Engineers

The Mission of NSBE • The mission of NSBE is “To increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.” • You do not have to be black or an Engineer to be a part of NSBE.   14. Pre-Collegiate Initiative Do you like Math, Science and Engineering? Of course you do! Apply to become a PCI coach where you will be able to train high school students in the things that you love. Our PCI attends conferences with us to compete against other PCI academically. Be a part of making a difference! National Society of Black Engineers

What This Involves • Meet with High School Students once a week for one hour to teach them about STEM majors • Run simple experiments, teach ACT/SAT prep, prepare them for college admissions, prepare design competitions, and prep for a try-mathalon • Eastside High School- Mondays 3-4pm • Newberry High School- Thursdays 3-4 pm National Society of Black Engineers
