Project Background • Purpose: update City of Dublin crash mapping system • Change from location-based centerline system to current LBRS system • Replicate existing automation (MS Access) in ArcMap and improve process
Project Background • Use existing LBRS data + 3 years of crash data • Create crash database • Crashes geolocated • Create customized ArcGIS toolbar • Develop automation tools • Process crash data • Reports • Analyze patterns
Geolocate from Crash Report Created customized intersection fields for LBRS nodes Assigned to intersection and used distances to place along routes created from LBRS
Project Results Conversion to LBRS routes Easier to automate/analyze crash data Improved safety reporting Better identification of crash patterns within the city
