  1. Child Labour Is Extremely Harmful For India’s Children The National Census of 2001 shows that there are 12.6 million child labourers in India who are between the ages of 5 and 14. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) was ratified in 1992 and laws like the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act of 1986 have been in place yet child labour continues to be practised throughout the country. Regrettably, children make up a sizable portion of the Child labour is a problem that has several underlying causes but two of the main issues that trigger it are poverty and illiteracy. Parents from marginalised communities send their children to work at such a tender age because they’d rather have some income to run the house and feed the many mouths than send them to school. Education helps children get stable jobs in the future and strive for a more respected life but they enrolled in varied illegal activities to earn meagre wages instead. Children take up jobs in varied hazardous environments – from working at factories to highways dhabas, domestic work, or selling knick-knacks at traffic signals, underprivileged children engage in any of such odd jobs It is high time children get to play and learn in a healthy environment than work in hostile settings that considerably affect their immediate as well as long-term development. After all, children are more prone to abuse and exploitation when engaged in labour work. They are exploited in many ways – be it at a whole labour force in India. to make a living.

  2. construction site or a tea stall. Census 2011 shows that over 33 million children in India, between the ages of 0 and 18 years, work as child labourers. All children can grow up in a safe and secure environment only when a zero- tolerance approach is observed towards child labour. CRY, India’s most trusted NGO, has been working relentlessly to discourage this practice and ensure that children go to school instead of work so that they have a chance at a better future.
