  5. The Impact of Chronic Diseases in China • In China, chronic diseases are projected to account for 79% of all deaths • Projected deaths in China 2005: 9.427.000 • Deaths due to chronic diseases: 7.471.000 • In the next 10 years, over 80 million people will die in China from a chronic disease
