  2. CROKE PARK • Croke Park was host to many G.A.A. and hurling events. • When Croke Park was reopened on June 23rd 2002 the first match played there was the Leinster Football Championship game between Dublin and Meath. • Its one of the most modern and spectator friendly stadiums in Europe.

  3. Gaelic football is a mixture of of Soccer and Rugby. A Gaelic pitch is approximately 137m long and 82m wide. Each team consists on fifteen players,3 full backs,3 half backs,2 midfielders,3 half forwards and3 full forwards. The ball used in Gaelic football is round and slightly smaller than a soccer ball The local teams are the Man O War and O Dwyers. GAELIC FOOTBALL

  4. WOMENS GAELIC • Another type of Gaelic Football is women's G.A.A. • A number of counties lay claim to being the cradle of Ladies Gaelic.

  5. G.A.A ABROAD • Now Gaelic games are being played all over the world. • Gaelic games have traveled the world with the multitudes of Irish emigrants. • It is played in every continent except Asia.

  6. NOW A DAYS • Recently the G.A.A have put flood lights on Croke Park. • Since Lansdowne road was torn down, soccer and rugby matches have been played at Croke Park. • The first match played under flood lights was between Dublin and Tyrone.

  7. Local Clubs • The local teams are in Balbriggan and Man O War. • O’Dwyers pitch is Bremore park. • The Man O’ War pitch is beside a sheep field.

  8. Our School Team • The girls team won one and lost one. • The boys team weren’t so successful. • The coaches are Mrs. Murphy and Mr. Caffrey.
