Jimmy was a kind boy, who was popular with his classmates and teachers alike. He would never make a fuss, even when his younger brother would make a mess in his bedroom.
His older brother would tell the most corny gags, yet Jimmy would never cut in to say that he had heard them all before.
The night before last had been the worst, when his brother had filled the bath to its rim, which had made him laugh very much!
His father had gone out to the shed, to collect together some toys they had decided to sell. They wished they didn’t have to sell them, but they knew they would get some money by selling them before Christmas.
Jimmy’s father was furious when he went back to the house, as John, Jimmy’s brother, had hopped around the room, with a jug, trying to empty the water from the bath.
He hadn’t heard his father walking up the stairs, as he had been wearing his i-pod, listening to rock music: Killing for Time, the Welsh rock band.
He had his back to the door so his father had him boxed in. He started to dab at the water spilled on the floor. While he was dabbing with the small, soggy sponge, he noticed a chip in the floor tiles.
Oh no! Had he done that when his box of CDs fell on to the floor with a thud? Thinking about that taxed his brain! His father would kill him, or shout at him, or ground him..!
