Raising the Bar on the NJ ASK 3-8 State Initiative: • Raise expectations at all grade levels and for all students so students are better prepared for college and careers • Ensure students are better prepared for high school and thedemands and increased rigor expected of them to achieve proficiency of the revised standards and assessments NJ ASK 3-8 revisions • Increased the rigor, points, variety of test questions, percent correct for proficient and advanced proficient • 2008 Grades 5-8 • 2009 Grades 3-4 • NJCCCS revisions • Increased rigor, depth & expectations • 2009 Revisions-7 content areas • Common Core State Standards- • (June 2010) • -Mathematics • -English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects
