  2. Egyptian God Names • The god of the sun was known as Ra • The god of music was Hathor • They called the god of destruction Sekhmet • The god of the sky was Nut • The god of earth, Geb, was the color of plants and Nile river mud

  5. Truthful Heart • The deceased would stand before 42 judges and gods • Their heart contained the deeds of their lifetime was lead to a set of scales • If the heart was kept balanced it went that they were truthful • If they their heart was balanced then they would have a perfect afterlife

  6. Unbalanced Heart • When they are determined if they lived a good truthful heart they determine whether they have a good heart or bad heart • If the heart of the person is unbalanced they will be sent to the Devourer of the Dead • The Devourer was known as the Great Swallower • The person would then be immediately killed

  7. Mummification • Took up to 70 days to do the process • Their internal organs were removed • Their brain was pulled through their nose • The body was placed in a mixture of salt known as Natron • After that the body was wrapped in linen with amulets and was inserted between layers and place in a coffin
