  2. Andrew Jackson was born in 1761 in Waxhaw, South Carolina. • He was Scottish and Irish. • At age seventeen Jackson wanted to become attorney. Basics

  3. When he was 13, he and his brothers joined the local militia. They were captured by the British. Jackson was slashed by an officer for refusing to clean his boots. His brother died in jail just before his mother got them from a prisoner exchange. After that his mother went to be a nurse and died which left Jackson an orphan. • Due to slow communications no one heard about the Treaty of Ghent in New Orleans. So there was one more battle with Andrew Jackson as General. The U.S. win the last battle. Military
