  1. Undergraduate Research Participant Pool (URPP) Summer 2014

  2. What is the URPP? • Earn 4% of your final PSYC 1010 grade by participating in psychology research 6hours in the Summerterm (May 5th– July29th) 4% of your final grade

  3. How do I start? • Go to the URPP website (http://yorku.sona-systems.com) and create a new account.

  4. Remember!!! • Use a York email address/check spam box • It takes 3 days to receive login info • Enter your student number and course section correctly • Write down your URPP identity code

  5. How do I participate in studies? • Complete the prescreen questionnaire • Especially demographic questions - last digit of student number, gender etc. • 1 “credit” for each hour of participation. A half hour study would be worth ½ a credit. • You need to earn a total of 6 credits (6 hours) prior to July 29thto get your full 4%. You must earn 3 credits per term. • Each ½ credit = .33% • Warning: Do not wait until the last minute to earn your credits.

  6. Second Time Around? • If you have already taken Psyc1010 and are doing it for a second time, you need to earn 6 new credits for this course. • You cannot transfer credits from a previous course.

  7. Code of Conduct • Show up on time • If you cannot attend your appointment, cancel it • Keep the confirmation emails • July22nd– July 29th: Appeals week

  8. Is there another way to earn my 4%? • 3-page paper • Summarizing and critiquing a psychology research article • Paper Stream • If you wish to choose this Paper Stream you must email us before May 19th, 2014

  9. Important Dates • SummerTerm start date: May 5th, 2014 • Summer Term end date: July 29th, 2014 • Credit Appeals week: July 22nd – July 29th 2014 • Paper Stream deadline: May 19th, 2014
